On Tour with Ashleigh and Morgan July 7

Monday, July 7th:Today Group 8 drove to Auschwitz concentration camp, where they began the tour by walking under the infamous sign, "Arbeit Macht Frei," "Work Will Make You Free." They went into several buildings and learned about what went on in the everyday lives of the camp's victims. After lunch outside, the group traveled to the Birkenau death camp, where they began by walking through the famous guard tower featured in almost every book on the camp. They went inside barracks, stood at the very place where Dr. Mengele chose who would live and who would die, and saw the former crematoria that were destroyed at the end of the war. At the end of this long day, the group paused to have a memorial ceremony where they read several poems and said the traditional mourners prayer for all those who perished in the camp. This evening the group drove to the town of Scezin on the border between Poland and Czechoslovakia. They slept there tonight in anticipation of their drive to Prague tomorrow.

soon we will actually have pictures of the girls.... I can't wait. tomorrow night they leave for Israel.
