Instructions for Life ~ Good Karma

I just received an e-mail and even thought I am not a follower of the Dalai Lama.... it works and I will be bringing it with me to services as I start the new year

1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve risk.

2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

3. Follow the three R's:

  • Respect for self,
  • Respect for others and
  • Responsibility for all your actions.

4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.

6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship.

7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

8. Spend some time alone every day.

9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.

10 Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be ale to enjoy it a second time.

12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.

13. In disagreements with love ones, deal only with the current s situation. Don't bring up the past.

14. Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.

15. Be gentle with the earth.

16. Once a year , go someplace you've never been before.

17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other

18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

19. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

The Bruin Boy Bunch wishes you and those you love a 5769 filled with good health, good deeds and the opportunity to make many great memories!

Fredrick, Malm and Moses

I know that you are wondering what I am talking about ... but these are Sam's new best friends

that is when we aren't cussing them out....

If your wondering .... this would be Malm well part of Malm

but with a little (my definition) hard work we got Malm's head all put together and we started on the rest of him.

And before we knew it he was all put together and ready for Sam to sleep on....

After Malm was done we moved on to Moses....

We don't name them we only assemble them

and assemble we did by 7:00 we had Moses done and all that was left was Fredrick....no problem we would make it to the spa by 8:00...except no one told Fredrick that he was suppose to be easy...

you will notice that Sam's wardrobe has changed from the earlier pictures ... that is because Fredrick was not cooperating and well what can I say... we had much better results the next day.

and with that we were done building ... yes there is a bed down there

a year later

Last year at this time we (Barry, Ashleigh, Celia and I) helped Samantha move into her dorm room....but this year it was diffrent... The car was still packed full of stuff.... but as you can see it is a much smaller car than last year. But on Monday morning after a wonderful final weekend in Laguna Sam and I were off.... we made it to the Sigma house (yes she is living in the sorority house) in pretty good time.... we moved some furniture out and then put Sam's stuff in dusted a little and then called it a night because we were going to have a busy Tuesday....

We started with a smog test and then off to IKEA and oh the decisions...we needed a bed, a desk, plates, glasses, bedding and other miscellaneous items that you need when you are living on your own.... so she tested items out
and then as you know when you shop at IKEA we went and pulled our merchandise

and as you are looking at what is in our cart at this point I bet you are wondering how will we get it all (yes there was a lot more) in Sam's little Avalon? well we couldn't so we did the IKEA special and rented a panel van... and the best part was that the young man who came to bring us the van his name is Ashley... also knew Aaron Saltzman from the havurah they use to work together.
so we packed up the van drove to the house unpacked the van took it back and then had some lunch.

but my flight is boarding so more later

We Found Wahoo's!

I know you didn't know they were missing ..... well they were.

the last time we were in Laguna Sept 2006 the missing items were overwhelming...including Wahoo's.

But now it is back and we.... o.k. they are happy again.

I am learning to knit....EN22

I know I never would have thought I would be doing this

but Sissy has officially started her empty nest stage and was looking for something new to do so we took a knitting class.

I like it ... it was a little rough starting but I got the hang of it .... I am making Ashleigh the first scarf.... I just need to learn to how to stop...
