Happy Mothers Day to All

What is Mothers Day ... some people call it a Hallmark Holiday... other people say that it is our opportunity to show our mothers how thankful we are that they are our mothers... some people will say "if you don't see your mother on Mothers Day then you are not being respectful".... But what I have come to realize as I became a mom again and again and again...is that:





1. If I need a particular day to be remembered or acknowledged as being a mom ... then I really have to question what kind of mom I am.








2. As much as my children are saying thank you to me I need to say thank you to them for making me a mom and for making my life wonderful.

From those I gave birth to

To those I married

It is those people that made me a mom

(Celia, Nathan, Samantha, Morgan and Ashleigh)

That make my Mothers Day wonderful.

So Thank You Kids... and to everyone else... I hope you had a great Mothers Day

The last time anyone saw it was many years ago.... we were even getting ready to give it up for lost.







In 1998 is was used quite a bit (3 times) and it would be passed from one to another to another...

in 1991 Bubbie and Wadah stood under it in Laguna when they redid their vows...





and then in 1998 Barry and I stood under it as we put our family together and became the Bruin Boy Bunch.




Why it is the Glickman Family Chuppa



and now in just 17 days Celia and Sean will stand under it with some new details ..... and you will just have to wait until after the wedding to see what we did.

17 days and counting

Most Jewish events are marked by a few things

one is food.... Celia and Sean are taking care of that

another is family ... there will be plenty of us up in Portland

but the one take home item that you always have is kippot with an inscription. and this wedding is no different ... So we can check one more item off the list. The wedding kippot are here except for the one that I already mailed up to Celia.
