Waiting for the Train

That's right Massachusetts has what Los Angeles dreams of .... Mass Transit.

So Sam left a few days ahead of us to go to the David Project. She arrived at the airport and took the train to Boston University. She finished up on Thursday afternoon and took the train (T-Line) out to Worcester.

We got to the train station a little early (well maybe more than a little) and then we were able to grab some lunch at St. Vincents waiting room.

I will digress for a moment and tell you that this was the most wonderful hospital waiting room I have ever seen. There was a waterfall 5 different healthy fast food restaurants even a hair and nail salon, and it was just soooo nice.

So the end result of this adventure is that Samantha is with us. And we do so want real mass transit in Los Angeles

What did you do on Sunday?

It was a beautiful Sunday Morning ... not to hot and just what was necessary for a real Camp Mom Adventure.

We (Barry, Morgan and Me) went for a ride on the metro.....
we started on the Orange Line,

moved to the Red Line
and then exited at the Hollywood/Highland stop (3rd one on the line) and then we crossed the street twice and waited for our little group to get a little bigger when we were joined by Holly and Erica (who also rode the metro) and we went to a little known place called the Hollywood History Museum. It was fascinating, all the costumes and articles and other movie trivia.

The bummer for me was that they do not allow private photography in the museum so you will just have to trust me that it is worth going to. After the museum we went to Mels Dinner (conveniently located right next to the museum (on a rainy day you would not even have to go outside) where we had a little lunch and family discussion... Barry and Gary provide so many joyful opportunities. After lunch we went to the Hollywood Highland Center and a little place called D'Lush for a drink very good then we did a little walking around Morgan and Erica had the opportunity to compare dad's and after that it was time for us to move on....

So Morgan and Barry lead the way back home via the Hollywood/Highland station which I must admit is one of my favorite station where all the eyes are watching you.

Camp MOM....

The group is getting smaller Marissa is off to Palm Springs, there are only 2 Wednesdays left until Ashleigh and Morgan leave and Bubbie planned all her appointments for Wednesdays and she really wants to go with us. So after this trip to the California Science Center (Orange line to the Red line get off at 7th and Fig (Metro Center) and take the Dash F) we will do China Town on Sunday and then we will leave that last short week up in the air you know camp shopping and stuff.

So what was happening at the California Science Center http://www.californiascienceter.orgorg right now the big thing is the Super Hero Exhibit. It was a very interesting exhibit they were showing what was actually going on with each Super Hero and how it would actually work in the real world.

So Morgan had the opportunity to try being the HULK

Ashleigh got to do some Thermal Dancing We just can't remember which Super Hero this was suppose to be.

But I think we all liked it when the girls were able to draw their own Super Hero's and Marissa drew a picture of her Brother Sean (Celia's Fiance).

After the Super Hero Exhibit we went to the High Wire Bike and I don't think I have laughed that much in a long time... and it was fun all those brave girls ... until they actually got on the bike.

I thought that they were all going to chicken out one at a time.... but they didn't they all rode the bike and they were all shaking, and some of them were even screaming...

Marissa decided that she needed one more adventure a little rock climbing

It was a great day.... but it is time to go home....
